Freelance writing decisions
Hi there!
Well it is looking a little dicey whether or not I can continue writing for a client. I do not like to reject the work, but as the pay is poor, and will impact upon better paying projects. Also, I cannot find anyone to do the work for me, so it is not looking good. The impact my reputation will receive because of this I cannot determine, but it will almost certainly not be favourable.
My hope for this work was a new writer who approached me via facebook, and offered their services. Sadly, as she is based in Pakistan, I cannot pay her unless my bank allows me to do a bank transfer. This I feel will not be likely or easy.
So, my friends, unless someone comes out of the woodwork and accepts the work, I will have to reject it. Not something I wish to do.

Hi Richard,
I just saw your comment on Problogger and got here. Your experience in finding work is an inspiration to me.
and need some insights! Hope you can be of some help.
I want to get some gigs – blogging, copywriting – and dunno where to look for. I’m little tech-tardy
Plz. share your experiences and guide me a bit.
Thanks
Solomon

Hi Solomon.
Well in essense I use two sites to find work, and both are free to register, or basic membership. The sites I use are
http://www.getafreelancer.com
http://www.craiglist.org
As I said before, it is really a question of numbers, so the more jobs you apply for, the more chance you will have of finding work.
The next step is to do a good job on the work that you land, and that way you build a rappor with your client. This leads to more work, and better paid work.
When you begin, you will probably not be paid too much at first, but stick with it, because providing the work is good enough you will build a good reputation, and this has its own rewards.
I hope this helps a little, and if you have any specific questions, I am more than happy to answer them.
Rich.

Hi Richard,
Thank you so much for the info!
You know for a tech-wary guy even if you pay some dough to sites, they (me) can’t maximise the opportunity. There are hell lot of things involved. I faced some technical problems with Elan and my registration fee is wasted for this month.
Thanks for the insights, Richard!
Let me know if you need any writing to be done. I can do a good job of it. Sincerely.
I’ll check up these sites, now.
Regards
Solomon
