Who is Teahon-Freelance Writer?

I am Richard Teahon, and I am a UK based freelance copywriter.

The art of copywriting is to engage the audience or readership through creating informative and entertaining copy that holds a reader's attention from the first word to the last full-stop.  This provides the platform for a website to achieve its aims.  This is what I keep in mind when I write, and this helps me to tailor the work to a target audience, which in turn makes the website more effective.

No matter how good a website looks and feels, it is the copy that will talk to your target audience.  Your message, your goals, your aims are fulfilled through effective communication.  A website communicates via its copy.

The concept of web design is to focus on designing sites around the copy rather than the copy around the design.  This speaks volumes for the power of the written word on the web.  A good combination of the two creates websites of the highest quality.

As well as working as a freelance writer, I am also involved with three other web based projects.

Playgameshavefun.com is a children's website which provides ideas for children and parents to amuse, entertain, and educate one another.  It focuses on creativity and imagination.  I create the content  and marketing for the site.

Link-Optimise is an SEO resources and services site.  The idea of the site is two fold, to teach others about SEO, and to offer an SEO service for paying clients.  I create the content and  marketing for the site.

The Holiday Ferret is a worldwide holiday rentals site which showcases holiday homes around the world.  Currently under construction following a hack in July 2010.  I create the content and marketing for the site.
