Another night, another day
Hey folks, well its back to the grind for me, and that is a good thing. Tonight, the aim is to write thirteen articles, and then relax...We'll see how this pans out, as I already have other things to do tonight too, which are just as important.
That is an issue with freelancing, as where do you put time for other things into your day? The world is not just about working, but about living too, and sometimes, you just have to forget about freelancing and carry on as you were. I feel the secret is not to worry too much about it, especially as in most instances, there is nothing you can really do. Also, a night off or two helps you relax, clears the head, and makes your life a little nicer.
So on with another day, and another night of freelance writing. I'll let you know if I managed to relax...
An Impromptu night off.
Last night I had every plan to pitch into some work and get some of it out the way. The idea being that I could repeat the process tonight and effectively be clear tomorrow night. I could get ahead of the curve then.
Sadly, I just could not concentrate and fell asleep. This is how constant work catches up with you.
Tonight, I will do a little bit of work and see how it goes.
Link-optimise, is beginning to make waves on Google, something that can only be good. This is after five days of the site launching. This is fantastic.
I'm off to keep my eyes open
Bye for now.
Soap box and SEO
Following on from my last post, it turns out that only forty percent of the electorate from Norwich North bothered to vote. This is a very sorry state of affairs, for many reasons. People died for us to get a vote, people protested for us to get a vote, so we should vote, there is no question about this. It is not just the lack of choice that puts people off I fear, but the feeling that nothing will ever change. The similaraties between the two main parties is largely the reason why people feel this way. The first past the post system is another. It is all very sad.
On a working note, I effectively took an unplanned day off from writing, and just updated this and the link-optimise blogs. The link-optimise which is our SEO site, gained five extra visitors last night, which is very pleasing. I'm off to see how it ranks when searched for. Fingers crossed.
Poverty, elections, and Norwich North
Last night I touched on the subject of poverty, well that is a bit extreme, but more accurately, not having any money in your pocket. This has been the case for a few weeks, due to a site launch and buying a house. Though obviously this is not very nice, it has shown me that I do tend to waste money on things I do not really need, like chocolate. Also, not having much cash has given me a sense of freedom, as when you have money you also have greater responsibilities, as you are able to do more than what you could when you had nothing. The knock on effect that if someone significant to you needs money, the responsibility is yours to provide it. Unless of course, you can't.
I do not feel this is an issue of balance as such, as it has far reaching implications to society as how much money a person needs, should have, and should be allowed to have. My own feelings is one more of social conscious than greed. But would I think differently if I had lots of money. It is something I would like to find about, and I make no bones about that.
Should someone be allowed to earn a hundred times that of someone else? Well no. It's an absurd principle, yet if I was the person that earned it would I think again? Yes, I probably would. I like to think though, I would not try to cover the issue in bullshit, should I I ever be in a position to defend the indefensible.
Social issues have come to this blog, and as I live in the constituency of Norwich North, I have exercised my democratic right and voted. I feel everyone should vote as many people died for us to get it. Also, if you chose not to vote, then don't complain. You have no right to. Saying that, as Labour and the Conservative party have differences that are now measured in millimetres as opposed to miles, I was left with little option but to vote for a party that is on the peripheries of our democratic system.
This means that my vote will probably not be represented in Parliament. The absurdity of our system, is that it is not proportional representation, but first past the post. So millions of votes are not counted in the time of a general election. In effect this means that if I want my vote to count I have to vote for the favourite MP to win my constituency, and not for the party that has the most sensible policies. What's that about?
Busy times and new ventures, must be a typical week for a Freelance writer
Well this week is officially three days old and once again I have been typing words like there is no tomorrow. Though I cannot remember how many precisely I have written over the last five days, I think it must be somewhere in the reigion of fifteen thousand, give or take. Though the majority of these were for my weekly Precise English job, I wrote quite a few for Digitpedia, and quite a bit of copy for my SEO venture, link-optimise.com. This site is complete and is amazing, if I do say so myself.
This week and for a long time last week, I had more or less no money. Other than the times when I am praying that link-optimise will become successful so I am earning plenty of cash, not having much cash in my pocket- £0.98 to be precise, has actually become quite liberating. I don't have to watch the pennies because I haven't got any to watch. It is a strange feeling, now I have managed to let go of the hate of not having any money. All a bit of a relevation. Sleep well.
My work there is done, and yet just beginning…
My work on link-optimise.com is now completed save a few tweaks. All the copy is written, so once Phil has done his bit, the site will officially be launched. This will hopefully mean a very busy period for me where I am search engine optimising websites for money.
This is a solid business venture, and this together with out new venture, will hopefully mean we become self employed, and no longer depend on our mundane day jobs.
As our Great SEO experiment will start tomorrow/Monday, these times are very exciting. Fingers crossed we are on the first page of Google soon.
www.link-optimise.com, the only SEO provider worth tipping your hat too!
It's only in beta format, and there is still much work to do, but I have to say that mine and Phil's new venture www.link-optimise.com, has gone live in beta format. It looks amazing, and if you are interested in anything search engine optimise related, then have a look at it. Even in its current form you will still get an idea about the subject, and if you are looking for a way to optimise your website, get in touch. Phil and I are experts in the field of SEO, and we work for reasonable rates. All the elements of SEO are covered, and we can bring search engine optimisation to your site.
